🏊 Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau and his parents donated $25,000 to kickstart the 'Just Add Water' Commemorative Brick Campaign for the new $49.9 million Aquatics and Wellness Centre. The donation honors Wes and Glenna Chalmers. The campaign allows community members to purchase engraved bricks for installation outside the centre, which is set to open in Fall 2025.
đź’‰ Dynacare officially opened a new Laboratory and Health Services Centre in Port Elgin, Saugeen Shores on June 14, 2024. CEO Vito Ciciretto, Mayor Luke Charbonneau, and local officials attended the grand opening. The facility offers over 1,500 tests, including blood and urine collection, glucose tolerance testing, and the HarmonyTM non-invasive prenatal test, serving the local community's healthcare needs.

📽️ The Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival, showcasing 11 short films by local youth, will be held on June 19 at Galaxy Cinemas in Georgian Bluffs. The free event begins at 4:30 PM, with screenings at 5:15 PM followed by an awards ceremony. Films cover various themes and are created for a teen audience.
đź—˝The Grey-Bruce Special Olympics Torch Run kicked off in Port Elgin on June 13, 2024. About 25 Special Olympians and police officers walked 1.3 km to raise funds and awareness for inclusion. The event is part of a larger fundraising effort that raised $2.5 million in Ontario last year for Special Olympics programs.
